What is verification and how does it work?

At Rentsafe.com.au, the safety of our users is very important. As part of increasing security, we give our users the option to verify their account, which means that we can ensure that the person behind the account is a real person.

As a verified member, you have unlimited access to all homes and can contact all landlords.

The verification is a subscription which is activated until you cancel the subscription yourself. Payment is automatically deducted from your card monthly. We give you the opportunity to a trial verification for 2 days for only AUD 1, which is then renewed with AUD 80 per month if you choose to continue.

The subscription is automatically renewed until you end the subscription yourself. This information appears before the purchase and after the purchase in your order confirmation. The verification has no binding period and can be canceled at any time.

Does Rentsafe.com.au have a housing queue?

Rentsafe.com.au does not own or lists homes for rent, so Rentsafe.com.au has no housing queue. However, some advertisers on the site may have housing queues.

Are the homes in the listings still available?

The housing listings are published until the advertiser deletes the listing. If a listing disappears, it is because the home is rented out.

Create a good presentation

Take as a starting point not to show interest in housing that is not suitable for you. If you see that the rent is AUD 2000 but your budget only allows a rent of AUD 1000, it is not relevant for you to show interest in this home. Also, avoid asking for details and information already stated in the listing.

Should I upload a profile picture?

Upload a profile picture is not a requirement, but definitely a recommendation.

Many landlords prefer to be able to see who they are talking to, just as much as you want to see pictures of the home in a housing listing.

Profiles that have a profile picture are guaranteed to get more answers. You can upload your profile picture quickly and easily under your account settings.

Why don’t I get any response from the landlords?

Many landlords gather several applicants and evaluate these in peace and quiet before deciding. It is perfectly normal for you to wait at least 10-14 days before receiving a response from a landlord.

Especially in large cities where demand is high, it can be difficult for the landlord to respond to all stakeholders. Therefore, many landlords start by responding to the messages that are most relevant.

Why do I not see any contact information?

To contact a landlord, you have the opportunity to send a message to him through the listing. In some cases, you can even be redirected to the source listing so you can contact or show your interest there.

Please note that you must verify your account before you can contact the landlord.

Helpful tips and advices to avoid scammers

At Rentsafe.com.au, we are constantly working to create a secure portal for our users. A big part is that the majority of our users are verified so that you can feel confident that there is a real person behind the account.

Below are some tips:

  • Be extra vigilant when the ad text is in English, but the communication with the landlord takes place in another language.
  • If a landlord asks you to verify a credit report with the help of Bank ID, it is usually a case of fraud.
  • Never pay rent or security deposit in cash, ask to make a bank transfer so that the money can be traced.
  • Always make sure to get a written contract and check the landlord's ID card
  • Always relisting the contract carefully
  • Never pay anything in advance, before the contract is signed and you have received the keys

Verification - Subscription

Right of withdrawal

Within the EU, you always have a 14-day right of withdrawal.

When you activate the verification, which is a subscription, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal as long as the subscription has not been used.

When you activate the verification at Rentsafe.com.au, it is used immediately, which you accept in the terms and conditions when you activate the verification, this means that the right of withdrawal lapses as soon as you activate the verification. The right of withdrawal is thus agreed away, this is when you immediately get access to all the benefits that the verification brings.

How do I cancel my verification?
